“The Best Lingerie Comes In All Sizes”

This week the fashion plus size vs size zero debate raged on this week, when model Myla Dalbesio commented on her own insecurity as a ‘plus sized’ model working on a Calvin Klein campaign.

Despite the beauty being just a UK14, she said she felt pressure standing next to models like Jourdan Dunne and Lara Stone during a recent interview with Elle magazine.

So American Vogue took the opportunity to come out with their own campaign:

“The Best Lingerie Comes In All Sizes”

The snaps feature a range of women with curves, fuller hips, and stunning natural make-up to represent the campaign tagline that ‘Gorgeous Bras Come in All Shapes and Sizes.’

The shoot which was photographed by Cass Bird features models Candice Huffine, Ashley Graham, Marquita Pring,Tara Lynn and Inga Eiriksdottir all sporting lingerie.

These shots are stunning, and a move in the right direction.

Speaking about the debate and online backlash to her earlier interview and plus-size standing, Myla said:

“I love that I get to be a part of this conversation, about size and body image and that I get to represent a brand like Calvin Klein. They didn’t introduce this campaign for shock value, they simply included what some would refer to as a “normal size” girl in their advertising, right next to other girls of varying sizes and shapes” she said.

“I love that by opening this discussion, I can also (hopefully) open some doors for other models, friends of mine, that have always straddled the line between straight size and plus. True body diversity doesn’t mean only sizes 0’s and 2’s then jumping to size 16 and up. There is a middle ground.”
