Apple has unexpectedly announced new products today… the cheeky divils

Niamh Maher

We love it when they surprise us.

If red is your favourite colour and you’re an Apple nerd for LIFE then this is a good Tuesday for you.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have been released in a red aluminium finish, the new color is part of the ‘(Red)’ program, which funds the HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.

It marks 10 years of partnership between Apple and the ethical consumerism brand.

(Red) was set up by our very own Bono and philanthropist Bobby Shriver, and donates funding to worthwhile causes – like The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The firm also announced a new video-editing app called Clips which will be available for free from April.

The special edition iPhones will be available to order online worldwide from March 24th.

You can find out more about the collaboration here.
