Email users worldwide are being warned to check if they have become victims of a recent email hack in the Netherlands.

A spambot known as Onliner has obtained the passwords 711 million email accounts and is sending spam that can bypass spam filters, as well as banking malware.

People’s personal information is also at risk, as Onliner may send suspicious emails that look like invoices in an attempt to get users to hand over bank details.

Anti-hacker website HaveIBeenPwned is warning internet users of the attack, claiming it’s one of the biggest hacks it’s ever come across.

“Just for a sense of scale, that’s almost one address for every single man, woman and child in all of Europe,” said Troy Hunt of HaveIBeenPwned, according to Metro.

To check if you are affected by the hack, visit HaveIBeenPwned and enter your email address.

If your email is one of the 711 million hacked, you should change the password straight away.
