Fan of the mute button? WhatsApp is going to make it even easier to ignore your group chats

As any avid WhatsApp user will know, being a member of multiple group chats is difficult.

Sure you’re super popular and have loads of mates and just can’t stop chatting, but whenever you actually have to get something done, or want a couple of days away, or just need a break from everybody in the world, they’re brutal.

If you mute them, you’ll still see that the chat is hopping whenever you go the app. And if you leave them, you’re going to miss out on a load of content when you eventually return.

Can’t win, like.

Thankfully though, WhatsApp have heard our mild-inconvenience prayers and decided to start testing a new feature that could solve all of our group chat based issues.

It’s called Vacation Mode – and we need it on our devices ASAP.

WABetaInfo reports that the mode will allow users to not only mute a chat, but also to hide the entire chat from the app.

So if you really don’t want to see what’s been going down in the chat, you don’t have to anymore.

Absolute blessing.

The only downside here is that Vacation Mode isn’t actually available across all devices yet. Rather, it’s being tested across a few Android devices to see how well it goes down.

But we’d imagine it’ll go down pretty well so fingers crossed we’ll be seeing more of Vacation Mode in the coming months.

We’re in desperate need.
