Here’s how you can see every Google search you have ever made

Oh the shame. The terrible shame.

Carl Anka

Would you be brave enough to see what you were searching for back in 2006.

You know when your friends like your really old Facebook status and dodgy profile pictures and you can do nothing but cringe?

Well this is like that but self-inflicted.

If you made your search while logged in on your current Gmail or Google account, you can see it again.

As Digital Spy reports, the vault holding your Google search history can be found over at history.google.com/history.

Google reassures us that they protect our privacy and security, with a nice “Only you can see this data”, but to look at your search history all in one place is startling.

Google Search Fecal Matter

We can totally explain why we were Googling ‘fecal matter’. Honest.

In an Inception-style twist, you can also search your own search history. Perfect for when you need help remembering when you were looking for a song. Or just in case you wanted to solve a convoluted argument.

Google have even included an option to have you download your own search history if you want to feel particularly ashamed of yourself.

But now we’ve shown this to you, we imagine you’ll want to know how to put a stop to it.

Web and App Activity

In among all the search profiling you can hit a “Details” option. A little bit of further rummaging will reveal an “Activity Controls” option which will allow you to turn off recording of your future searches.

Just switch off the slider marked “Web & App Activity” and your Google searches will only be logged by your ISP, your God and your destroyed inner child from now on.

Technology eh?

We were Googling “fecal matter” because we wanted to get the spelling right on an article about bedsheets. Honest.
