Making a statement about the changes, Instagram's announcement said: "Today we're introducing changes to give you more control over your feed and ensure the posts you see are timely. "We've heard it can feel unexpected when your feed refreshes and automatically bumps you to the top. So today we're testing a 'New Posts' button that lets you choose when you want to refresh, rather than it happening automatically.I heard on the news that Instagram changed their algorithm to show newer posts first. Updated the app & checked & the latest 30 or so posts on my feed are all from the last 24hrs. Not exactly chronological but at least it’s not showing stuff from days ago!#instagramalgorithm pic.twitter.com/7sePrih1Wb

"Tap the button and you'll be taken to new posts at the top of feed — don't tap, and you’ll stay where you are. We hope this makes browsing Instagram much more enjoyable." Reports online say that the changes DO makes things better, with posts being from the past 24 hours rather than the past week being seen on news feeds. At least they finally listened to our pleas!#Media Instagram announced in a blog post that they will be adjusting the algorithm to ensure newer posts appear towards the top of the timeline..It's not a complete return to chronological order.
