Bad news if you mute your WhatApp groups.
Like a lot of people, we all have a number of WhatApp groups. From different groups of friends, to work colleagues and our family.
They’re a great way to keep in touch with people, but they can also be a bit of a pain if you’re not in the mood to chat or if you’re busy with work. You can often come back to your phone and have loads of messages, which also drains your battery.
So, the usual thing to do if you don’t want to be distracted by the messages is to mute the group entirely which has proved to be very handy… Until now!
The new update will allow people to directly contact others within the group so that they see the message even if they have muted the group. It shows up as a notification on that person’s phone.
They have taken inspiration from Twitter for the method whereby you put the @ in front of whoever you want to target within the group.
We’ve tested it out here and it works so there is defintely no getting away from the group texts now.
