Jade Hayden

In the market for a couples getaway this year?

You’re not the only one. So whether you’re looking to get super romantic with your other half, or hoping for a relaxing getaway with one of the gals, we’ve put together a list of seven stunning hotels to suit your every desire.

As long as it involves a spa day or a lake view, obviously.

1. Crover House, Co Cavan

Cavan’s been having a moment, especially when it comes to gorgeous getaways. The stunning 18th century Crover House is no different – located on the private shores of Lough Sheelin, this Georgian manor is as tranquil as it is grand.

What’s more is they’ve got a Summer Staycation package starting from just €120 per night, including breakfast. Lake views at an affordable price? Sorted. Find out more here.

2. Redcastle Hotel, Co Donegal

Located right on the wild Atlantic coastline, Redcastle Hotel overlooks the shores of Lough Foyle in Inishowe – and it’s more than sure to take your breath away. But, if that wasn’t enough to entice you, they’ve also got a fairly decent couple’s package running this summer.

The Couples Retreat package includes an overnight stay, a two course meal, breakfast the next day, and a luxury spa treatment each. Find out more here.

3. Ice House Hotel, Co Mayo

Ice House have got a couple of couples packages (wahey) on their radar this year – and the good news is that even if you’re not staying in the hotel, you can still pop into their gorgeous spa for some much needed pampering.

The hotel and spa is currently offering two packages for couples – the Couples Retreat Massage for Two for €170, and the Just The Two of Us massage and facial for €250. Find out more here.

4. The Marker Hotel, Dublin

ThursDATE, anyone? (A date on Thursday, nonetheless). Dublin’s the Marker have just launched a new couples package including a night in one of their lovely rooms, choice of a 60 minute customised facial or massage, a glass of bubbles each, fluffy robes and slippers, and access to their relaxing spa area.

This package costs €240 per couple and you need to book on a Thursday, obviously. Find out more here.

5. Wineport Lodge, Co Athlone

Looking for something laid back and luxurious over the next few months? You’d be hard pressed finding anything more tranquil than Wineport.

Located on the still waters of Lough Ree, this boutique hotel has got an in-house treatment suite, a stunning restaurant, and cocktails to die for.

And if you really want to treat yourself, you should check out their Champagne Suite experience. Featuring champagne on arrival, glorious truffles, and a gorgeous dinner over looking the lough, once you get there, chances are you’ll never want to leave. Find out more here.

6. Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Resort, Co Galway

Glenlo is a five star resort, so chances are you’ll be splashing a bit more cash if you fancy heading here for a night or two. But hey, you get what you pay for, so if you can spare it, why not treat yourself?

The hotel’s new boutique spa, Glo Spa and Wellness, has just opened, and if you want to spend €644 per room you and your guest will enjoy a luxurious overnight stay, a massage of choice, afternoon tea for two, access to the Abbey Movie Theatre, and an à la carte breakfast. Find out more here.
