This adorable Westport treehouse is just €95 a night on Airbnb

Mayo is calling.

Westport is a classic Irish holiday destination and with staycations now more en vogue than ever, we can’t think of anywhere better for a few days away.

If you’re travelling as a twosome and looking for digs, may we recommend this cute hexagonal cabin tucked away in the trees of the Westport countryside?

Sitting on a patch that’s half orchard and half woodland, this place looks like something out of a children’s book. Add to that the fact that you’ve got cows, goats and chickens roaming around outside and it’s the ideal respite for those of us who have been trapped in a city or town for months on end.

We can just picture ourselves sitting on that deck of a sunny evening with a generous glass of pinot in hand…

Inside, the cabin looks warm and relaxing – its hexagonal shape means it gets sunlight throughout the day, plus it has its own stove for added cosiness.

Guests are promised a pleasant welcome too. Airbnb users who stayed here previously have raved about host Irma’s homemade brown bread in the reviews.

If you get tired of horsing into bread and strolling in the woods, you’re just two kilometres from the breathtaking views of Clew Bay so it’s well worth packing some hiking boots. On the other hand, Westport town is just five kilometres away if you fancy a wander or a bite to eat.

With prices starting at €95 a night with a two or three night minimum (depending on when you’re booking), we know where we’ll be going on our next trip away. The treehouse is getting booked up fast though, so if you fancy a stay, you better hurry.

Check it out for yourself here.
