Aer Lingus to introduce new service that always leaves the middle seat free

Jade Hayden

Just think of the leg room.

And the arm room. And the suitcase room. And the room you can reserve for chilling out mentally when you’re not stuck in the middle seat of a packed flight.

Well, now you might not ever be stuck there again because Aer Lingus are introducing a new service that gives passengers the chance to avoid all of the less than ideal aspects of flying short haul.

It’s called AerSpace – and it’ll only cost you a significant amount of money to avail of it.

Divine.

The service, available from September 1, includes an empty middle seat in the first row, lounge access, priority boarding and Fast Track airport security.

It also offers passengers private baggage space, complimentary food and drink, as well as free changes and refunds and automatic standby for earlier flights.

A decent enough shout if you’re in a rush, desperate to work on the plane, or simply in need of a pleasant short haul experience.

AerSpace launches officially next month on selected routes including major Irish cities, Barcelona, Berlin, London, and Brussels.

The cost of the upgrade varies depending on the price of the original flights, but from what we can gather you’re looking on parting with a fair bit of a money to avail of the service.

So, you know, you’d really want to be interested in that sweet, sweet leg room.
