‘I’ve never learned so much’
Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex Camila Morrone has spoken about how she’s “starting to feel like a woman” after turning 25 and following her highly-publicised breakup with the actor.
Model-turned-actor Morrone marked her 25th birthday in June, and says she has never learned so much as she has in the period since.
During that time, Morrone has managed to land a major role in Amazon Prime’s forthcoming mini-series Daisy Jones and the Six, and called time on her relationship with DiCaprio, 48.
The pair started dating when she was 20 and he was 43, an age gap that raised eyebrows for many.
After five years together though, they split up last summer.
Speaking to The Cut in a new interview, Morrone revealed that this year has taught her some important lessons.
While she did not mention the breakup with DiCaprio, she said: “I’ve never learned so much as being 25 years old.
“I am just starting to feel like a woman. But I also feel little in a lot of senses.”
In the new Amazon Prime series, which is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s popular book of the same name, Morrone plays a character called Camila Dunne, who is the partner of the titular band’s lead singer Billy.
The series follows the rise and fall of a fictional rock band in the 1970s, fronted by the charismatic Daisy Jones (Riley Keough).
Morrone continued: “With any character that I play, I try to bring what I know from my real life. That’s the main thing that I learned in acting class, how to tap into moments in your life that were impactful.”
She added: “So I don’t think it’s any different for Camilla, I just tapped into what I knew. I do see her as incredibly independent, despite Billy being a rock star.”
DiCaprio and Morrone’s breakup last summer managed to keep up a certain trend the ‘Titanic’ actor has – that he has never publicly dated a woman over the age of 25.
The couple had been together for four years, and fans were already growing concerned for the future of their relationship the day Morrone turned 25. Lo and behold, the couple broke up just months after her 25th birthday, prompting ridicule online.
In recent months, L DiCap has been rumoured to be getting close to 19-year-old Israeli model Eden Polani, with the pair seen together at the release party for Ebony Riley’s new EP.
He was seen sitting next to Polani as the two enjoyed the event, the Mirror reports.
DiCaprio is also rumoured to have gone out with 23-year-old model Victoria Lamas since his breakup last year.
