Until recently I was a facial virgin and now I have a feeling I could become a facial addict.
That’s because my first ever facial (in 26 years on this planet) was so relaxing and so invigorating that I will no doubt return.

The staff
When I was a teenager I suffered with bad acne so was a little apprehensive about what facial to go for but the staff at the spa were incredibly helpful and explained what type of facial would suit my skin type. They also answered any questions I had (I had quite a lot) and did a patch test to make sure I didn’t react with the products.
The facial
The Heaven Bee Venom Facial is the first product of its kind and it’s absolutely fantastic. It leaves your skin feeling so soft and the whole process is really therapeutic, I cannot recommend it highly enough. First, your skin is cleansed and exfoliated before the mask is put on. Then you get a scalp or foot massage before the product is washed off.
The setting
From the moment you enter the spa, you are relaxed. The facilities – which include a gym, sauna, steam room and rooftop hot tub – and the finish are fabulous. The relaxation room creates a lovely ambience where you can chill out after your treatment with refreshments on hand including melon and chilled water.
The occasion
Be it for a birthday, a short break or a hen party, The Merchant is the perfect location for some down time. The aftermath
Part of the reason I never opted for a facial before now was the fear that my skin would get worse before it got better but it actually just got better. When I first left the spa, my complexion was glowing and has looked incredible ever since… even if I do say so myself!
