Acid attack survivor will walk the runway at New York Fashion Week

We love to see diversity in the fashion industry.

Two years ago, beauty blogger Reshma Banno Qureshi was attacked with acid by her brother-in-law which left her with some severe scarring.

Reshma went on to  become the face of Make Love Not Scars (MLNS), which is a global campaign which aims to end the sale of acid.

Now, at the age of 19, she has been asked to walk the runway at one of the most prestigious fashion events in the word, New York Fashion Week.

Renowned fashion company FTL MODA got in touch with MLNS about getting Reshma on board as part of their show.

MLNS shared a video earlier this month of Reshma finding out the exciting news.

Since the horrific attack, Reshma has begun doing make-up simple tutorials which each have an important message at the end.

For example, she will do a tutorial on eyeliner or lipstick and at the end of the video discuss how easy it is for people in India to purchase acid in the shop, just like buying cosmetics.
