Body Beautiful – Three New Beauty Buys to Try This Week

Three new buys to try this week...

Rebecca McKnight

It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Hand & Nail creams, €6.50, Roger&Gallet

We have a soft spot for French beauty brand Roger&Gallet so these fab hand and nail creams were a very welcome addition to the Her.ie desks this week. Enriched with Shea Butter and additional active ingredients, the new Roger&Gallet Hand & Nail Creams provide long-lasting hydration and protect your precious paws from the elements. Less importantly, but equally delightfully, they come in gorgeous packaging and smell like heaven. There are three formulas to choose from: Fleur d’Osmanthus; A sunny, floral fragrance with hints of osmanthus flower, mandarin and grapefruit, Rose; A light floral fragrance with hints of rose, peony and gentle almond milk, and Crème Sublime; A warm sophisticated woody-citrus fragrance. The 30ml size is also particularly handbag friendly. Sold!

Available from in selected pharmacies and Marks & Spencer Beauty Halls.

VIVA GLAM RIHANNA, €18/€19, MAC

We love the ‘beauty with a purpose’ message from the MAC VIVA GLAM campaigns, and the latest one from Rihanna sees the Barbadian popstar model a new lipstick and lipglass, with all proceeds set to help women and children affected by HIV and AIDS. The new additions to the counter bearing the singers name are VIVA GLAM RIHANNA lipstick, a frosty blue-red (€19.00) and

VIVA GLAM RIHANNA lipglass in a matching shade (€18.00). According to MAC, the purchase of one VIVA GLAM product can provide a clean, safe place for two nights for one resident living with HIV, or provide fruit, vegetables and grocery essentials to a mother and child affected by HIV for one week.

Available from Thursday 13th February from Brown Thomas, BT2 and www.BrownThomas.com.

The Big Easy, €37, Benefit

Earlier this week Her.ie was treated to something of a circus show at the fabulous launch of Benefit’s newest release; The Big Easy. Billed as ‘Better Than BB’, The Big Easy is a multi-balancing complexion perfector that performs a bit of a balancing act on your skin. The four key functions of the product are;

Balance: Mositure and oil control

Self-adjustment: The product adjusts to suit your exact shade

Perfects: Evens your skintone with a liquid to powder finish

Protects: With SPF 35 to shield you from the elements

There are six shades available, which may not seem like a lot but we had no trouble finding a match. A little goes a long way, and the product really does seem to last the day and blend to a lovely finish. We’re a little dubious about any claims of self-adjusting shades (after many failed experiments), but we’ll let them off with that as we’ve fallen in love a little bit with this lovely lightweight formula and its many other perks.
