It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

MeMeMe Lip Collection, from €8.99
We first wrote about MeMeMe on these pages just a few short weeks ago, and in the time since we've been raving about the new (to Irish shores) brand. This week we were all about perfecting our pout, and we've been trying their Luxury Lip Cream (€10.50), Light-Me-Up High Shine Lip Gloss (€8.99) and Luxury Lip Glaze (€9.50).
The Luxury Lip Cream is a treat; long-lasting with a quality feel, strong colour and a super-moisturising formula that boasts shea butter and vitamin E. Available in a choice of ten colours, you'll see current catwalk tones reflected in the line, including Coral Cloak, Pashmina Pink and Tuscan Red.
The Luxury Lip Glaze is a lightly scented non-sticky gloss, available in five rich colours. This one reminded us of some of favourite old AVON offerings. Lovely.
The pick of the bunch, though, is the Light-Me-Up High Shine Lip Gloss. Another non-sticky gloss with special plumping agents for an ultra glossy pout (expect the tingle). That's not the best bit though. It comes with a mirror on the side and an ingenious light-up applicator! Yes it sounds a bit gimmicky, but we care not. We love it.
InstaBlur, €22.50, The Body Shop
It's telling of the times in which we're living that our pals at The Body Shop supplied a 'guide to the perfect selfie' with this new product. This five action perfecter comes in one universal shade and is designed to blurs skin imperfections in an instant so your selfies can be filter-free... not that that's enough to stop us! The formula contains mattifying spherical powders with "smart-filling properties" and moisturising Vitamin E. As for the five actions, they are:
•12H Shine Controlling
•Pore Smoothing
•Blemish Hiding
•Complexion Unifying
•Make-up Extending
To be fair, The Body Shop know a thing or two about skipping the filters. Every poster displayed in-store and every image on The Body Shop website is produced with three guidelines: The Body Shop do not alter the size or shape of their models, they do not use "excessively thin" models and they do "make small adjustments to colour or minor imperfections, ensuring effectiveness of visuals across different sizes and formats".
Instablur can be used alone to smooth out imperfections for a mattified no make-up look, or as a long-lasting base for your regular make-up application.
