Body Beautiful – Three New Beauty Buys to Try This Week

It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Divine Youth Oil, €88, L'Occitane

With a name like that, you'd be quickly forgiven for having high expectations of the latest L'Occitane release. Thankfully, this is a brand that delivers on pretty much every outing. This new 'miracle oil' is an addition to the Divine Immortelle skincare routine (seriously, kudos on the naming front). Plant oils are pretty magical things, boasting an incredible array of skincare benefits to nourish, plump, regenerate, restore balance, energise, and protect the skin you're in. In this admittedly pricey oil, you'll find borage, evening primrose, camelina, echium, sea buckthorn, apricot and rose hip; seven plant oils chosen for the affinity with your skin and expertly blended together.

Rich in omega 9, they also contain complementary essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6) and are known for their soothing and regenerating properties, as well as their ability to protect the skin’s barrier function.

At €88 for 30ml, this falls into the category of investment skincare... but is it worth it? We've just gotten our hands on the product so time will eventually tell. What we do know so far is that the texture is fine and quite light with a non-oily finish, so those afraid of using face oils need not be wary. After three nights of use, we cold see and feel a noticeable difference in lacklustre, dull skin that hadn't seen enough sleep and had seen a little too much smog, air-conditioned environments and a LOT of junk food. (Bad Her.ie, bad.)

All in, we're falling for this one and we'll be using every last drop.

 

CODE VLM Mascara, €24.50

A good mascara is one beauty buy that never fails to set our hearts, along with our eyelashes, all aflutter. This new release is infused with moisturising conditioning oils, waxes and vitamins including Vitamin B to aid lash regeneration and antioxidant rich Vitamin E to ensure extra lash kindness.

The intense pigment mascara coats lashes individually with a dense bristle brush to grab and build lashes layer by layer. CODE VLM promises full definition without clumping, and is tear-proof for those emotional moments.
