Brow Satin Smoothing Duo, €8.29, Maybelline
Brows are big beauty business. They frame your face and make a massive difference when they’re properly groomed, so it’s well worth paying close attention to yours. This new release from Maybelline is a nifty gadget that would likely find a happy home in your makeup bag. This is what the clever folks at Maybelline refer to as a dual phase brow creator. Step one is the tinted velvety fixing gel-pencil, which helps fill in gaps and shape brows. Step two is the soft finely-milled powder that defines brows and sets them in place. Simples.

WHAT’S THE SECRET TO A PERFECT ARCH?
“It’s all about placement. For most women, that is in line with the outer edge of the pupil. However, the exact same arch won’t look great on everyone. Brows need to be customised to suit an individual’s face.”

“The brow should begin between the inner corner of the eye and bridge of the nose. Finding the perfect end point is easy – just hold a pencil from the outer edge of the nostril pointing to the outer corner of eye.”
HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE BROW PRECISION?
“Look directly into a wall mirror, with no expression while applying your product. Begin in the centre of the brow and make short upward and outward strokes with very little pressure – this mimics the softness of your actual brows.”

Love in Florence/Love in Paris Eyeshadow Palettes, RRP €9.99 and €11.49, NYX
NYX have found a happy home on Irish shores since their introduction to the market here earlier this year. The latest additions to their range are these pretty and pocket-friendly eyeshadow palettes named after two of the world’s most romantic cities. Love in Florence is a five shaded palette with three colour way options (Ciao Bella, Eat Love Be Fab and Meet my Romeo), while Love in Paris is a nine shaded palette with four varieties (A La Mode, Love Affair with Louis, Parisian Chic, C’est La Vie and Be Our Guest Maurice).
