I bought this €11 foundation on a whim – and it’s replaced my Urban Decay All Nighter

The best beauty impulse buy I've ever made.

Have you tried it?

Confession: I love chemist makeup brands but I used to think that low-cost foundation just wasn’t worth bothering with.

I’d tried loads of the cult cheap ones that are popular with bloggers and YouTubers but was never impressed and had come to the conclusion that I had to spend money to get decent coverage that lasts all day.

How wrong I was.

While running around Penneys one day grabbing bits before a weekend away, I threw Flormar’s Perfect Coverage Foundation into my basket. It’s fair to say I haven’t looked back since.

This lad is the ultimate in high coverage. The first thing I noticed about it was how far just a little bit would go on my face. Its finish is matte but not dull; a big plus for me. Fast forward to eight hours later and it was pretty much intact which, as someone with oily skin, made my day.

That said, I have to admit the foundation wasn’t an instant winner for me. It sets super quickly, meaning you have to work fast or find yourself trying to push what feels like cement around your face with your stippling brush.

Another downside is the poor colour range. The Perfect Coverage Foundation comes in just five shades; not at all good enough when you look at the offerings from some other brands.

Still, I’m obsessed with this stuff. It’s my go-to for nights out and has relegated my trusty Urban Decay All Nighter foundation to the bottom of my makeup bag. For €10.95, you couldn’t go far wrong.
