So eh, how do these work? The website claims that the ingredients in the gummy bears "allow potent actives to be held in the buccal cavity for a considerable time, resulting in 'direct absorption' through the membranes in the cheek walls"... eh ya... go on.
The magic tanning ingredient also supposedly comes from the vitamins high dose of beta-carotene and vitamin A.
And according to dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, M.D., director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City who spoke with Marie Claire, they said: "Ingesting high levels of beta-carotene may discolor the skin, as we see in people who eat a lot of carrots. Unfortunately, the color your skin turns is actually a yellow shade, not a tan shade."
And since tanning is something that is never promoted by dermatologists as all sun rays to your skin are dangerous, a product should not be promoting "a better tan", so why are they? Who knows.
These gummy bears are being marketed at €14.00 on Superdrug as a sale price. We are not sure about you, but we think, a jelly that sells themselves on giving you a tan from the inside out - is one not to be trusted.
