Primer is a key product in the quest for long-lasting makeup and thanks to the ever-evolving beauty industry, there is now a huge range to choose from.

Depending on your specific skin concern, you’ll want to tailor your choice of primer but the advantage of this new release is that it holds universal appeal.

Laura Mercier has just launched a new primer collection and it’s the blurring option that beauty fans are raving about.

To give it its full title, this is the Pure Canvas Primer Blurring and is priced at €41.

Infused with Microalgae and blurring powders, the primer conditions skin for “improved look and texture”, with the blurring technique allowing for a “soft-focus” effect.

It instantly lends a mattifying effect to your skin, ideal if you encounter a shiny forehead around the 3 pm slump (I can’t be the only one!) and this will also prove a must-have if you’re forever battling large pores – more on that particular beauty bugbear here.

Laura has even shared her inspiration for the product.

“Just as a painter primes a canvas, Laura Mercier believes in priming the skin. Pure Canvas Primers are the essential step to prepare the skin for makeup application.

“All silicone-free, the breathable formulas seal in skincare and create a protective barrier that extends makeup wear. Packed with skin-loving ingredients, the primers not only protect skin but are also good for skin”.

The blurring primer is already receiving rave reviews online, pretty impressive considering it’s only just launched.

The Pure Canvas Primer collection also includes a hydrating, protecting and illuminating option and the pièce de résistance, a supercharged essence (which includes beauty boosting peptides to aid smoother, firmer skin). It’s available to buy now from Laura Mercier online and will also be available in Brown Thomas and Arnotts.
