No matter what nail varnish brands claim to say, most will chip within a day or two. Even if you’ve gone through the laborious process of applying an undercoat, two coats or colour, finished off with a shiny top coat, to really get at least a week out of your manicure, something more heavy duty is needed.
But, the worst part about a three-week manicure has to be the removal process. As your polish starts to chip and get raggedy around the edges, the temptation to pick the rest of the colour off is unbelievably tempting, even though you know you’re wrecking your nails. And, the worst part of all is that you have to return to the salon or nail bar to get them to soak the colour off, not very convenient during the working week.
So is there a DIY alternative? Thankfully, yes!
