Feather brows are the bizarre beauty trend that no-one asked for

Anna O'Rourke

They look as bonkers as they sound.

We’ve all come to be slightly obsessed with our eyebrows in the past few years.

Back in the noughties, we were all about that pencil-thin look but, thankfully, bigger brows made a comeback and we could finally put the tweezers down.

We don’t see the latest brow trend taking off in Ireland any time soon, though.

Feather brows’ have been trending on Instagram over the past few days, thanks to the work of a Finnish makeup artist.

Yes Finland, the country that brought you Eurovision rock legends Lordi and the humble ice-skate, is currently dominating the brow world.

Stella Sironen, from Helsinki, posted a photo of the look online earlier in the week, saying “I’m starting this new brow trend please recreate it and wear it every day.

The secret to the look? A glue stick, which she says is the only product she used on her eyebrows.

The post currently has over 44,000 likes and has gotten beauty fans feuding, with people both defending and criticising the look online.

The commenters might have gotten worked up over nothing, however, as Stella has said her “new brow trend” was all for a laugh.

Posting a new photo, she wrote: “note to self: when u make a joke about starting a funny brow trend people will take it seriously and…. well. start the trend.”

So, while she might not be a brow guru, you can’t deny the girl’s got skills – we’re LOVING the rest of the work on her Instagram.
