Festival beauty hacks you need to know

Because getting ready in a tent ain’t easy.

Oh the festival struggle, we know it all too well. Going to a festival is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our summer. From Forbidden Fruit to Electric Picnic and everything in between.

The only teeny tiny downside has to be the daily struggle of trying to get ready in a tent that’s approximately the size of a cardboard box.

Well ladies, fear not because we have rounded up some fabulous festival beauty hacks that will take the stress out of your morning routine, which just leaves more time to have fun.

Bring the dry shampoo

Obviously! Dry shampoo is a festival godsend, especially on day two or three.

Our favourite at the minute is L’Oréal Paris, Elvive Fibrology, Dry Shampoo. It’s great for giving flat hair a boost and it also has an invisible finish. Just spray a little bit into your roots, brush through and weave your hair into a loose plait and you’re good to go.

Plan your hair in advance

This might sound a little bit too organised for some of the last minute Sallies out there but it really pays off. Have a rough idea of what hairstyles you want to try out over the weekend so you know what products you’ll need like bobbles, hairspray and bobby pins.

Be brave with your colour

It is a festival, after all, why not mix things up? You don’t have to opt for a permanent colour either. Colorista is a new area of hair colour from L’Oréal Paris Colorista which allows you to change up your hair with no commitment. They have one day spray (perfect for the final day), 1-2 weeks washout and even permanent paint so you can decide what suits you. There are even 34 customisable shades to choose from. We’re so in.

Ditch the false lashes

They might look good on day one but chances are you will spend the whole evening checking to see if they have fallen off yet. Use a good waterproof mascara instead and you won’t have to worry about any smudging when the heavens inevitably open.

Wipes

Wipes should be the number one essential in any festival kit, they avert so many disasters. Spill something, grab a wipe. Makeup disaster, use a wipe. Run out of deodorant, wipes are your best friend. Bring a bumper pack to a festival, you will use every last one.

Don’t be too cool for sun-cream

No, seriously. We’re not trying to sound like your mum here but sun-cream is so important especially when you’re outside all day at a festival. The last thing you want is to wake up hungover with a sunburn, that’s pretty much our idea of hell.
