Five fab beauty launches to give you heart emoji eyes

Want or need?

Cathy Donohue

Want versus need.

With the vast amount of products available, beauty boffins will know the familiar feeling that’s something akin to a child in a sweetshop.

That said, no one is made of money and I’ve had a look at some of the latest launches in a bid to try and find out what actually works.

Here’s a run-through of five recent launches so you know what they do and whether they’ll benefit your routine or not.

1.Lancome Energie de Vie, €37 for 30ml

Explanation: This stuff is so packed of good stuff that you practically feel healthy putting it on. It includes goji berries, lemon balm and gentian root extract and leaves you with radiant, revitalised skin.

Translation: when you’ve got “green juice for skin” to hand, no one needs to know about that sneaky mid-week pizza.

Or so we’ll keep telling ourselves anyway.

2. Buff Ivory Tower Palette, €28

Explanation: a multi-purpose product that can be used for highlighting, contouring, enhancing and defining your features. The palette is all about customising your look so you can go full-on war paint or just add a little touch of radiance.

Translation: Contouring made easy? Yes please.

3. Clarins Lip Comfort Oil, €21

Explanation: The oil itself isn’t strictly a new launch but another shade has joined the existing line, haiiii Red Berry. If you suffer from dry flaking lips (all of us in this ridiculous unpredictable weather), then this stuff nourishes and hydrates. Oh and it smells amazing.

Translation: So our lipstick might stay on for longer than five minutes without crusting off into unsightly flakes. FAB.

4. Fuchsia Nudes Take 2, €27.50

Translation: A combination of seven shades in soft warms and pinks that are easily blendable. Worn alone or mixed together, this palette is an all-purpose eyeshadow kit that should bring you from day to night.

Explanation: You don’t want to wear heavy eye-make up but then when you go without, your eyes feel naked.

Try a slick of Peaches and Cream for that ‘I’m not wearing make-up’ make-up look sorted.

*SPLURGE ALERT*

5. Shiseido Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask, €45

Explanation: This gel mask is formulated with Vitamin C & E (fancy I know) and works overnight to rehydrate sleepy skin. It’s non greasy, a major plus for oily-skinned gals and gives that dewy appearance we’re all after.

Translation: Any name with a Disney Princess (albeit backwards) speaks to me. That said, this stuff does what it says on the tin and it’s getting rave reviews all over the internet.
