We love this bold smoky look on the singer at this year’s Grammy Awards.
Bold smoky eye: Start by using a good primer. Then apply a nice neutral base colour all over the lid. Next, line the upper lash line with a black pencil and blend it out. Apply a dark smoky matte black eye shadow in a circular motion back and forth in the crease area and along the upper lash line (keep the brush moving at all times as this will give you a nice, well-blended effect). The trick to perfecting a smoky eye like Rita's is to build up the pigment gradually.
Sparkle: To add a touch of sparkle, apply UD's 'Moondust' eyeshadow in the 'Moonspoon' shade to the flat of the lid along the lash line. Then add the 'Moondust' eyeshadow in 'Cosmic' to the inner corner of the eye to really make the eyes shine like Rita's.
Cara Delevingne
The model stole the show at the InStyle Golden Globes afterparty, and while we’re usually obsessing over her famous brows, this look is all about her copper smoky eye and perfect liquid eyeliner.
Copper smoky eye: Use UD’s ‘Eyeshadow Primer Potion’ to create a good base. Apply UD's 'Chopper' eyeshadow all over the lid, blending into the crease area.
Then apply some ‘Chopper’ to the bottom lash line using a small angled brush. Line the top lashes using ‘24/7 Glide-on Pencil’ in ‘Perversion.’ This will give the eye a soft smoky look and really compliment the look. Finally, lash on UD’s Perversion mascara to give a false lash effect to the lashes.
Tips for applying liquid eyeliner: Practice makes perfect. You really need to take your time when using liquid liner and have a steady hand. Lean your elbow on a hard surface to get rid of some of the shaking in your hand.
Try using an adjustable mirror. Point it upwards and then look down into the mirror so that your eyelashes point downwards out of the way, giving you a clear view of where the liner needs to be applied.
Emma Stone
The actress rocked the red carpet at this year’s Golden Globes with a natural glow and bright berry lips.
Natural, dewy skin: You can check out our guide to creating this natural, dewy look here.
Tips for applying lip liner: Always make sure your lipliner is sharpened. Start by applying a clear liner (eg. UD's '24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil' in 'Ozone') to the outer lipline to avoid lipstick bleeding into fine lines. To add definition to your top lip, apply liner in the shape of an 'X' to your cupid's bow.
Continue using the liner down either side of the lip toward the outer corners of the mouth. Next, line the bottom lip. Start in the centre and then continue to the outer corners of the mouth. Finally, fill in the lips in full using the lip liner before applying your lipstick. This will hold the pigment in place for longer and give the lipstick something to cling onto.
