Us girls are very resourceful when it comes to making something out of nothing using makeup.
We think nothing of using our contour palette on our cheekbones and noses, but why not share the love with your cleavage, too?
The joys of contouring are boundless, with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Miranda Kerr using the trick on every nook and cranny of their bodies.
Miranda Kerr is a big fan of body contouring.
While our goals might be less ambitious than looking like a Victoria’s Secret model (thank god), we can still have a bit of fun with it, especially for a night out or a special occasion.
Kim loves Charlotte Tilbury’s contour products.
Our Megan Cassidy is a big fan of body contouring and has given us a step-by-step breakdown of how to achieve the illusion of bigger boobs with makeup – just in time for your night out.
What you’ll need – You don’t have to spend big bucks here.
While there are beautiful luxury body contour products on the market, a simple drugstore bronzer will do the trick.
If you are committed to sculpting your body and want to invest – Kim K’s favourite is Charlotte Tilbury’s Supermodel Body Cream which retails at €59.99.
However, what I’ve used here is the budget alternative Sleek Bronzing Block, which retails at just €9.99.
You will also need a highlighter. My personal favourite for the job is M.A.C. Cream Colour Base in Pearl, but any concealer that is a couple of shades lighter than your skin tone will do the trick.
What to do – If you are using a cream bronzer such as the Charlotte Tilbury cream, your fingers are all the tools you need.
I used a powder bronzer and with a TINY amount of product on a bronzing brush, swept upwards lightly in the direction shown.
I emphasise a small bit because this is definitely buildable and it is always easier to apply more than to take product away.
Then sweep the bronzer in a horizontal line across the top of the cleavage, as shown by the red arrows here.
As any contour queen will know, darker shades make the body part look like it’s receding, while lighter shades add fullness.
This is why fake tan makes us look thinner and highlighter makes our cheeks look fuller.
So, in this case we are looking for fuller looking cleavage and that’s where the highlighter comes in.
Apply your highlighter/ light concealer to the areas you want to look more full, as circled here.
And voilà – an instant boob job in just five minutes.
While this isn’t something I would do every day, or even close to it, it is certainly lots of fun when going to an event or occasion to add that extra shot of glamour.
