From sparkles, to leather via teeny tiny balls that look a bit like caviar (not that we’ve ever seen it up close) the beauty industries’ obsession with all things textured and 3D has graduated from nails to lips and if the Haute Couture catwalks are anything to go by, the trend's a lot more wearable than you think.
Taking inspiration from the Christin Dior couture collection itself, in which artistic director Raf Simons featured layers of colour and texture, the backstage beauty team set about mirroring the same concept but on the lips.

Textured lips took centre stage
International makeup artist Pat McGrath and her team layered Swarovski crystals over hot pink, coral and pillarbox red pouts and the results were simply stunning and surprisingly chic and grown-up.
And although we’re tempted to try the look ourselves, something tells us speaking, eating or even breathing were pretty much out of the question for the models so we’re hoping the high-street or some of the more catwalk conscious brands like MAC will translate the textured trend into easy to wear products for us mere mortals next season.
