We never thought there'd be a demand for it in 2018 but, believe it or not, it's a trend that might just be coming back around.
The look has been popping up on Instagram loads already this year.
Is being called 'reverse balayage' it has us very confused and a little scared.
It's done in the opposite way to normal balayage - painting caramel and chestnut tones through light blonde hair.
It "defies what the sun will naturally do to your hair colour," New York-based hair colourist Cassie Cohen told PopSugar.
"This is a trend that is edgier than your average ombré and can be altered to flatter any skin tone or natural hair colour," she said.
Look, each to their own, but we have to say we wouldn't be into this at all at all.
All we can think of is your roots growing back through your blonde hair, leaving your with dark hair on top and bottom - not a great look.Explore more on these topics:
