I’ve whittled down February’s beauty launches to the three you actually NEED

Beauty budget 101.

Cathy Donohue

Whether you’re a self-confessed makeup hoarder or you like to drool over new launches before making a choice, this is for you.

Every single month, there are a truckload of new beauty launches, from skincare to hair and everything in between, and there’s no way you can purchase everything, not to mind finding a place to store it.

That’s why I’ve set out to choose three products from the myriad of items that have launched this month.

These are the three I’m currently obsessing over and would recommend without hesitation.

Clarins 4-Colour All-In-One-Pen, €36

Okay, whatever about the pen terminology here, this brings us right back to our school days, where the multi-coloured biro made colour coding your homework SO much fun.

Clarins is on to a winner here but be warned, this is a limited-edition launch and if you want it, you’ll need to move quickly.

What’s in the beloved beauty biro then?

Three smooth eyeliners, in black, brown and a royal blue (homage to the 80s with the third option and guess what, blue eyeliner beauty trend making a big comeback for spring summer) and the perfect natural, neutral lipliner shade.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, €29

This product is here to prove anyone giving about glitter WRONG.

To be fair, I include myself in the above category because I wouldn’t normally be the biggest fan and tend to think it’s just for Christmas.

However, the ease of this eyeshadow application (simply slick it on) and the fact that it comes in a rose gold shade (Rose Gold Retro) have swung me to the sparkly side. For now anyway.

What usually drives me around the bend about glitter products is the fact that it goes everywhere. With this, there’s very little fallout, mainly due to the nifty tube casing, and that’s a selling point in itself.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow, €48

Your skin but better.

That’s a pretty big claim to make but honestly, that’s what this foundation is all about.

it’s managed to bottle that lit-from-within glow and probably best of all, there’s no peeling or caking which is one of my main bugbears with makeup bases.

This has received a glowing review from esteemed beauty journalist Sali Hughes who loves it and advises for all skin types (not often you can do that with one product) on light coverage days.
