Khloe Kardashian’s tip for sorting out weak nails might actually work

If you have weak nails, you'll know how annoying they can be.

Constantly splitting and breaking, it doesn't matter how many oils or treatments you apply because NOTHING seems to work. The worst thing is that just when they're starting to grow, usually when you have Shellac or something similar on as a sort of protective layer, they're in bits again a week later. It's probably obvious at this stage that I'm absolutely tormented by weak nails and so, I'm always on the look out for any and weird and wonderful cures that might help. Nothing has worked as of yet but the latest tip, courtesy of Khloe Kardashian makes a lot of sense. The reality TV star says that using Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream, a product originally formulated to condition horses' hooves, has improved the condition of her nails. In a post on her website, Khloe explained why it works so well for her nails, even admitting that it's a bit mad considering it wasn't produced for that purpose in the first place. She said:

"It’s so crazy, because it was originally made for horse hoove". "I used to use nail oils and cuticle creams, but they did nothing for my nails. I get acrylics a lot — and gel manis, too — so it has to be a really tough formula. "You're supposed to use this two times a day, but I use it more. I keep a jar in my car, in my bathroom, and even in my gym bag".

Although it might sound a bit mad when you first hear it, there's actually a basic reason why the cream, which retails at around €15, works well for horses hooves and nails. Keratin is a protein found in both nails and horses hooves and as hooves are so much harder to penetrate, it's easy to see how the Barielle cream is much stronger than a traditional nail hardener. As Khloe says, "a good mani is life", and so you need to make sure you're looking after your nails so they don't end up brittle, weak and damaged.
