Kim K’s highlighter tip will change the way you do your makeup

The reality TV star is so right about this.

Cathy Donohue

We can’t keep up.

When the contouring craze came around, it took a little practice to get that beauty look perfected.

We’d just about managed it when contouring was deemed too harsh and highlighting aka shiny, glowy, strobing kicked in.

However, if you’re a Kim K fan and adore her makeup, you might be interested to know that she’s growing tired of highlighter.

It sounds mad considering how it has the power to perk tired skin up and fake an iridescent glow that looks like your skin is lit from within. On a good day anyway, when the beauty Gods align and all that jazz.

Kim works closely with makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic and in a recent tutorial with him on her website, she explained why she’s had it with the shiny stuff.

“Sometimes I look at our show and I’ll see all of the highlighter we would use, like so much highlighter, like caked on our face, it looks crazy. So I just want like a natural way to look like you glow and still have the highlighter but just not caked on.”

To be fair, this makes sense. It’s far too easy to go heavy-handed with a highlighter and this is a reminder that less is more.

Here are some of our favourite Highlighter picks at the minute, in moderation obviously.

Stila Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in Kitten, €35

This nude highlighter is an iconic shade from Stila and it’s no wonder considering how it illuminates and brightens. Swoon…

Catrice Deluxe Highlighter, €4.95

Three shades for under five euro? That’s reason enough to snap this up, added to the fact that Catrice highlighters are actually really really good.
