Looking for a new concealer? Well look no further than these four star buys!

The best of the best!

Denise Curtin

Ah concealer.

I honestly, and I mean honestly do not know what I would do without it. Want to look awake? Concealer. Want to get rid of hangover bags? Concealer. Have nasty redness or blemishes that you want to vanquish? Concealer. Want a flawless base? Concealer. You see where I am going with this…

So over the years, I will confess I have dabbled with a LOT of concealers. From super cakey mud-like sh*t, to crappy quality ones that make me look even more wrecked and tired, I have tried the lot – and through a simple trial and error process plus endless questioning of friends, colleagues and relations on their “go-to concealer”, I think I have finally made a little list of the best of the best when it comes to cover up, durability and cost.

Now everybody has their favourite product and one they couldn’t live without, but if you are in the market for a new concealer or simply want to change things up, trust me and try one of these. You won’t regret it!

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer – €11.99

By far one of the best! This concealer rolls on so easily due to its handy sponge applicator top and gives fantastic long-lasting coverage. It has been labelled one of the best concealers out there by magazines and beauty bloggers alike, even one of Pippa O’Connor’s firm faves. I love it!

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer Three – Piece Camouflage Kit – €13.50

OK, you may think this is a random one, but I kid you not! Soap & Glory is my current concealer and I think it is most definitely one of the best in the business. The kit comes with two concealers labelled step one and step two which you then follow by their top tier, a translucent powder labelled step three – and all of this comes in a handy little compact case with a mirror. It is ideal for a night out, as the concealer can be quite “heavy duty”, but trust me it’s a good’un! Plus they’re cruelty free!

Urban Decay – ‘Naked Skin’ Concealer – €21.60

The most expensive concealer on the list, but for good reason. Urban Decay’s Naked Skin concealer is light weight, instant and most importantly unlike a lot of other concealers, this comes in a variety of shades for different skin tones. One again, it is good to point out that Urban Decay is also cruelty free. Kudos.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – €5.79

This one is a Her HQ table favourite. Enlisting the help of the gals, I asked them their favourite budget concealer to make sure I am giving you all a wide range of choice – and without a shadow of a doubt, they all said this one. Also, this product has just released a variety of new shades! Collection is a handy one to pop in your handbag when on the go or at work, and with a price tag of a fiver, sure wheeeerrrre would ya be going!

Happy shopping! Your peepers will be looking alive in no time, even if you don’t! The beauty of concealer eh?
