Looks Like We’ve Been Exfoliating All Wrong And Making Our Skin Worse *Sadface*

You try and do a good thing...

Megan Cassidy

So we all know that exfoliating is an important part of any skincare routine.

However, HOW you exfoliate is even more important.

While we love a good scrub, sloughing the skin until it’s pink with products containing micro-particles is not the way to go.

(Guilty as charged).

According to Christie Kidd, Beverly Hills-based dermatologist whose clients include Kendall and Kylie Jenner, says that topical serums are the way to go when it comes to exfoliation.

She explains:  “Pimples don’t need to be aggravated even more.

“It’s best to use a topical serum for exfoliation, which allows cellular turnover to happen without scrubbing off your skin.”

If you tend to turn to a facecloth to rub away any dry skin flakes, you might want to re-think it.

I also recommend simply using your cleansed hands, which are softer and gentler, to wash your face.”

We’ll just be throwing out our €30 muslin cloth then.

Geez, you try and do a good thing.
