Lush has just launched their first EVER plastic-free UK store and we like the sound of that

Music to our ears.

As if we didn’t have a reason to love Lush enough anyways, the bath bomb gurus have just gone and opened up their first ever store to contain absolutely no plastic.

In a bid to help the environment, Lush has been cutting down on all plastic and packaging on their products over the past 12 months. In their store on Grafton Street, Dublin, many products now come in two forms, one with packaging and one that’s called the “naked” version which is without; urging the customer to make the more conscious choice.

This launch of a plastic-free store follows on from the success of Lush’s plastic and packaging free stores in both Berlin and Milan. This shop is the first in the UK to follow and will open this Friday, 18 January, at 10 Market Street, Manchester.

Mark Constantine OBE, Lush Co-founder and Managing Director, said:

“In Lush we work in an industry where the packaging costs the customer more than the product. Now, the customer needs to worry about how to recycle something they didn’t want to buy in the first place.

“This seems like a raw deal to us. If we can cut out all the plastic packaging, we can give our customers better value for money.”

We like the sound of this, hopefully, an Irish store will follow suit ASAP.
