One of the biggest makeup trends of recent years came in the form of the revival of that 90s makeup look. We’re talking deep contours and even deeper lip colours. Yes, icons such as Gwen Stefani and the gals from Clueless have again become the inspiration for the look of choice for many. However, one woman who will always reign supreme when it comes to that classic 90s look is music legend, Aaliyah. Yes, the R&B artist’s look was iconic and continues to be recreated by makeup lovers everywhere even 17 years after her death. Well, in tribute to the singer, MAC announced that they will be releasing a collection inspired by the influential artist and it looks divine. The news of an Aaliyah collection was first rumoured back in August 2017, however, now we have pictures of some of the products and as expected, they’re amazing. In the collection will be items inspired by some of Aaliyah’s favourite MAC products including their lipsticks in the shades Chelsea and Cherish, a lipliner in Chestnut and the ever-popular eyeshadow, Espresso. As you can imagine, they all work from that quintessential 90s brown colour palette. MAC has confirmed that the collection will land in stores stateside on June 21 and will be available online from June 20.
