How to make your own seaweed face mask for a clearer complexion

We love DIY beauty and this seaweed mask left our skin revitalised and blemish free.

Do you love how your skin feels after a swim in the ocean. ?

Inspired by a brave dip in the water already this summer we wanted to try and bring the benefits of sea water into our beauty routines.

As seaweed contains high concentrations of Vitamins A, B, C and E it is a perfect ingredient to revitalise and treat your skin and the results of the homemade mask are excellent.

It leaves your skin soft and clears up most blemishes and even though it’s kinda messy, the benefits are the best.

If you fancy making the mask yourself, it will keep in the fridge for up to three weeks. Just make sure you don’t chow down on them after a night on the tear.

Ingredients

500g Fresh Seaweed

3 tbsp Natural Yogurt

1 tbsp Olive Oil

3 tbsp Honey

Juice of half a lemon

Method

Pick seaweed that is fresh and still attached to beach rocks. This is very important in order to make a healthy and fresh face mask. Bring a scissors to cut seaweed from the rocks and a plastic bag to carry the seaweed in.

Wash the seaweed really well with cold water until all of the sand is removed. This takes about 15 minutes.

Next add all of the ingredients into the food processor and wiz up the mixture for about 2 minutes until the seaweed is in small pieces.

Pour the mixture into sterilised jars if desired.

Using the mask

Remove all products from your face and wash with warm water in order to open your pores.

Gently place the mask on your face and neck, avoiding your eyes and lips.

Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Cleanse your face after the mask and tone and moisturise as normal.

I find the mask most effective in a steamy bath.
