“Always remember social media is not real life”.
We’re all guilty of creeping on one model or another on Instagram. Be it Kim, Kendall or Beyoncé – we all have our favourite.
And there’s always fads originating from the app that can take off – the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, tantouring your legs and the thigh gap.
Model Iskra Lawrence took to her personal Instagram account to show just how deceiving pictures shared on the platform can be.
The British beauty, who is the face of the body positive Aerie REAL campaign, decided to call out people on their bullsh*t posts that made them appear thinner and more toned by using illusion.
In a snap uploaded on April 25th that going viral, Iskra posed in two images wearing the same clothing but altered her posture to change her appearance.
She shows just how easy it is to get your perfect ‘thigh gap’ simply by arching your back.
The photo was accompanied with a caption about the deception of fitness or beauty posts on the app and how she believes people should be happy with how they look naturally.
“I’ll be the first one to tell you pics are all about good lightening and angles. Always remember social medias not real life never let anyone else’s pics make you feel insecure about yourself [sic].”
Last month, Iskra fought back at body-shamers on Instagram with a post that garnered over 109K likes.
