This is the ONE product Blake Lively relies on for her glowing complexion

Trine Jensen-Burke

Radiant, flawless skin is the holy grail for most of us.

And if there is one product that can really take your complexion from pasty to perfect, you can’t beat the humble bronzer. Just take a look at all your favourite celebs – that golden glow did not come from the sun, you know – they know better than to toast their skin like that.

No instead, they (or, more likely their makeup artists) apply some bronzing powder – and voila; they instantly look like they just came back from a week in Mexico. That is the beauty of bronzers, they instantly make you look healthier and more flawless.

Just be careful not to overdo it – this one is definitively a less-is-more approach product, and a couple of swishes of your brush is probably plenty. Think about where the sun would naturally hit your face (forehead, cheekbones, nose) and give those a dusting of colour.

Ready to be radiant like Blake? Here are five of our current favourite bronzers for that perfect post-holiday glow:

1. Clarins Sunkissed Bronzing & Blush Compact

We are so in love with this latest summer release from Clarins – both because this bronzer gives your skin the most perfect hint of a tan and also because the packaging is beyond amazing. We are you not to want to book your holiday immediately when you take a look at this!

Clarins Sunkissed Bronzing & Blush Compact, €47, available from Brown Thomas, Debenhams, Boots and Clarins counters nationwide

2. Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Make–Up Base

If you prefer a cream texture over a powder, you will love Chanel’s new Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Make–Up Base. This glides on your skin and feels super-velvety, and can be worn either beneath or over makeup.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Make–Up Base, €40, from Brown Thomas

3. Nyx Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette

Strobing is the latest buzzword in makeup (now that the contouring trend is finally on its last legs) and the new Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette from NYX new collection is perfect, whether you just want to give your complexion a little healthy glow, or enhance your features with serious levels of illumination.

Nyx Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette, €21, from Arnotts and selected pharmacies nationwide

4. Nars Laguna Liquid Bronzer

If powder isn’t really your thing (like if your skin is on the dry side), Nars’ new liquid version of its iconic Laguna Bronzer is absolutely worth a try. The beauty of this product is that you can use it alone to add a little colour to your cheeks, or mix it in with your foundation or tinted moisturiser for a more subtle hint of tan to your face.

Nars Laguna Liquid Bronzer, €34, from Brown Thomas

5. Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

This is one fab budget buy – and the bonus? It actually smells like chocolate! Not only did this bronzer give a lovely subtle glow, we also loved the non-drying texture.
