The one trick that allowed Doireann Garrihy to go seamlessly from blonde to brunette

Flawless!

As anyone who’s tried to take a similar plunge can attest, going from blonde to brunette (or the other way around) is no mean feat.

It can be time-consuming, risky, and the results mixed.

Which is why we were oh-so interested when last month none-other than TV presenting, comedy, and Snapchat kween Doireann Garrihy swapped her platinum locks for sultry tresses.

That she appeared to be able to do it seamlessly and practically overnight is only even more impressive.

However, away from the condition of your strands or the type of dye used, it has come to our attention that Doireann used one single trick that would have made the whole process an awful lot easier: namely, Gold Fever hair extensions.

Norma Jean – also responsible for the tresses on set on RTÉ Operation Transformation – is based at Brown Sugar in Dublin 2.

Making the unveiling of her work on Instagram on March 18, Norma Jean revealed:

“So I changed the gorgeous talented @doireanngarrihy from blonde to brunette all in one day using @lorealpro i also applied a full head of @goldfeverhair extensions using three different cols for this blend 14 inches in length absolutely stunning.”

She concluded with: “Who says blondes have more fun brunette all the way!”

Here at Her, we’ve previously said that we consider Gold Fever to be the best on the market, but as well as adding volume and length (if that’s what you’re after) it’s great to see that the brand can be used so effectively for swapping colours too.

As a blonde, Doireann became one of the faces of Garnier Olia Hair Colour and the 25-year-old even starred in an ad campaign alongside longtime ambassador, Fearne Cotton.
