Beauty blenders are widely praised as one of the best ways to achieve an airbrushed finish when doing your foundation, but UK hairstylist Jamie Stevens is using the tool in a unique way.
His unorthodox method of hair colouring involves using the handy sponges in a technique called ‘hair strobing’.
Basically, you cut one of the sponges in half and use the flat circular side to dab on the colour and gently work it into the hair strands.
In this Instagram post, he uses a variety of shades from blue and black to yellow to achieve the desired effect.
Although it might look like a bit of an odd process, apparently the softness and density of the sponge allows the different colours to seamlessly blur into each other, and the finish is actually gorgeous.
