Review: Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty is an absolute dream

Ellen Fitzpatrick

She nailed it, as always.

Last September, Selena Gomez launched her own make-up range, Rare Beauty, and since then I had been just dying to get my hands on it.

With liquid blushes to the most subtly slick packaging, I needed to try everything in this range, and fast.

Of course, little Ireland wasn’t somewhere they shipped to, and after going international with the company and setting up shop in Sephora, it still meant it was hard to get it for ourselves.

A friend of mine who was coming home from France was kind enough to stop by the Sephora in Bordeaux and grab me a foundation and liquid blush, and I’ve never been so happy she did.

Of course, I tried the foundation first, I had been looking for a new go-to ever since Bourjois got discontinued, and without jumping the gun too much, this could be it.

I’ve got quite dry skin, so finding the perfect foundation that doesn’t cling or make me look washed out is a big task.

But this foundation, it was a pleasure to put on my skin. It blended so easily, sat on my face without budging and gave off that effortless glow we all crave.

After bringing it away for a week and having it be the only foundation I could rely on, I was more than impressed.

When it comes to a foundation, this is what I usually look for; cruelty-free, vegan, paraben-free, suitable for sensitive skin and dermatologist tested.

And with this foundation, it ticks all of those boxes with a product you know is not harmful to your skin or the planet.

It was the liquid blush I was truly dying to try, after hearing people from every other corner of the globe raving about this, I knew I needed to add it to my basket.

And I’m so glad I did, the creamy texture blends effortlessly but gives a subtle yet striking glow to your skin.

I love that sunkissed glow that a peach coloured blush can give and the shade Muted Peach did exactly that, it looked like I’d been in the sun for a few hours, but in a good way.

Overall, there isn’t a make up brand I’ve instantly loved as I have with this, unless I’m willing to pay a lot more for it.

With Selena’s Rare Beauty, it’s affordable and worth the money you pay, you’re getting a lot more for your buck compared to the price of it.

Unfortunately, the brand doesn’t ship outside of the US and we don’t have Sephora available here, but when you can get your hands on this, it’ll be worth the wait.
