It’s happened all of us at one point or another.

Sometimes the tears overcome you and you’re powerless to stop them, which can be embarrassing and emotional all at once.

If you’re getting married, chances are you’ll have your makeup done or spend time perfecting it yourself and either way, the last thing you want is a teary moment ruining the look.

Thankfully, one makeup expert has a simple tip which can make all the difference.

Cassandra Garcia, editorial MUA for Bobbi Brown, who just so happened to work on the fab beauty looks for the likes of Reem Acra during Bridal Fashion Weeks around the globe, has all the info when it comes to bridal makeup.

The talented beauty pro explained how to quickly clean up the tear-related makeup damage.

Chatting to Byrdie, she recommends wiping your tears away and “upwards” because if they travel down your face, you’ll end up with “tear lines”.

In other words, you’ll need to dab at the tears before they have time to make it down past your cheeks, thus ruining your blusher and base.

As you’ll know if you’ve ever had a cry with makeup on, these tears lines mix in your base and leave marks which are impossible to blend, far from ideal.

Now, in fairness, you’ll be all over the place on the day and probably won’t even think about your makeup but in case you remember, this tip will save your flawless face.
