Six new beauty buys we’re obsessing over

OH. SO. PRETTY.

Cathy Donohue

Spring has well and truly arrived.

This month, we’re all about that fresh-faced beauty…glowing skin, luscious locks and natural eyes.

After attending a Bare Minerals event last week where Lee Etheridge, the brand’s International Education Director, spoke of how people should see you rather than your makeup first, we’re bringing it back to basics.

These newly-launched products simply add to your already gorgeous self, instead of trying to transform you.

Benefit GALifornia, €34

Okay first off, the packaging is TOO GOOD and if that’s not enough to win you over (we know there are multiple Benefit blush collectors out there) this is the perfect mix of pink and shimmer.

Dust a little on your cheeks for the perfect pick-me-up…honestly you won’t look back and this way you get a little taste of summer until that beach holiday finally comes around.

MAC Studio QuikTrik Stick (Here You Go/All AFlush), €36.50

These are so easy to use and if you haven’t tried them yet, you need to get on board.

They come in a range of colours but this rosy pink hue is brand new and the perfect spring shade. This one will literally LIVE in your handbag as a quick swipe will take you from day to night, desk to dinner, dinner to dancefloor.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear, €41

One of the French beauty house’s cult foundations, it has just been relaunched with a number of new shades. There are now FORTY to choose from so there’s absolutely no excuse for bad tidemarks.

Teint Idole is long-wearing, high-coverage and promises a radiant finish. It delivers on all three and to be fair, you can’t ask for much more from a makeup base.

We’ve tried all the foundations there are to try but somehow, this is one option that crops up time and time again as the perfect all-rounder.

Percy & Reed, Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Treatment Oil, €34

If we had to pick one hair product (bar shampoo and conditioner, the essentials) it would have to be hair oil.

It has the power to transform your hair from frizzy to sleek and this Wonder Treatment Oil lives up to its name. After one use, there was a noticeable change from unruly, wiry hair to something resembling sleek and that’s no mean feat.

Isadora Ultra Matt Liquid Lipstick, €12.95

Finally, an answer to our main lipstick bugbear.

Matte lipstick looks great but it can seriously dry your lips out and no wants to deal with the cracked, peeling effect that occurs when your pout is in need of a moisture injection.

Thankfully, this lippie gives a matte finish with a creamy liquid texture. There are three shades to choose from but Dolce Rose is our current fave.

Bare Minerals Invisible Bronze Powder, €24

Summer isn’t too far off and as the evenings get longer and weather gradually better, we can focus on introducing warmer shades into our makeup bags again.

This silky, ultra-fine baked bronzer has just launched and it’s the ideal transitional beauty product from spring to summer.

It comes in four shades and promises a creamy, velvet, glowy finish rather than the muddy, orange tone we’ve long associated with bronzers.

We have a feeling this might be the product that finally makes us friends with bronzer, about time too!
