Strawberry girl make up is taking over TikTok – what is it?

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Last year we had glazed donut skin and while we’re still living for it, there is a new TikTok make up trend that has arrived on the scene.

Hailey Bieber is a trendsetter, this isn’t news. When she declared in January of last year “glazed ?? skin all 2022. Tell a friend”, we were on board.

Now, Hailey has done it again only this time, it’s all about “strawberry girl summer” – Hailey, you have our attention.

Showing off a carousel of snaps which include a no-makeup selfie and pink glazed lips, Mrs Bieber is certainly telling us what we need to be obsessing over this summer.

Hailey recently made a TikTok, sharing with her followers how she achieves the strawberry makeup look that is taking over the social media platform.

She said: “I went in with two cream blushes that I mixed together – can’t say where the cream blushers are from wink wink.”

Latte and vanilla girl make up are two of the most recent looks we’ve been seeing everywhere, and strawberry girl is not much different.

Incorporating latte girl with soft and pretty pink shades, we’re giving the trend of the summer a new life.

Think delicate blushes and strawberry-coloured lip oils or stains – the pinker the better.

We want the sunkissed cheeks covered in freckles, getting the effect that we have been laying in the sun all day without any of the damage to our skin.

Thankfully, achieving this look is simple – which means that even if you’re a beginner when it comes to make up, you’ll have no problem making it work.

For this, the trick is to try and not use a foundation – but if that’s something you simply cannot take away from your routine (like me), opt for a dewy skin tint.

This trend is all about less is more, so next we focus on the blush. Going in with a cream blush, we melt it into the skin using our fingers for a beauty sponge. Place this on the apples of your cheeks and across the bridge of your nose, the places where the sun would naturally hit.

The final step is why we need the less is more approach. If you’re someone who is blessed with freckles, you can skip this.

We want freckles to peek through, so if you don’t have any, simply draw them on gently with an eyebrow pencil across the area you placed the blush. But always remember to pat them down, there’s nothing worse than overly sharp looking faux freckles.

And there you have it, the strawberry girl aesthetic. And of course, you can add more to this if you wish. I personally would simply not survive if I couldn’t add concealer and brow gel.
