The Beauty Drop: Flexitol Foot Care Range

We've got those hap-hap-happy feet

Megan Cassidy

In our new weekly feature we’re picking a highlight that’s landed on the Her.ie beauty desk and giving you the lowdown on the beauty break-through, the budget and the reasons you should buy….

The Beauty Buzz

In the midst of the yearly summer beauty panic, our tootsies often get lost. We may be plucked, shaved and spray-tanned to within an inch of our lives, but those trotters are often neglected – yet unsightly looking feet are a BIG beauty buzz-kill.

We punish our poor feet all year round – between squeezing them into too-tight-but-so cute ballerina pumps, to standing by the bar for hours in vertigo-inducing stilettos, those feet need some serious love.

If you cringe at the thought of someone else touching your feet, then a good at-home range like Flexitol is essential to keep your feet sandal-ready at all times.

The Beauty Brand

Flexitol is a global skincare brand specialising in foot care. Established in 1990 under the LaCorium Health umbrella, the brand is known for its pioneering and ever-changing approach to skincare formulations.

While they create products that are great for those with diabetes (prone to dry, cracked heels), their range is suitable for anyone with dry skin or feet that need a little extra TLC.

The Beauty Break-though

We tried the Moisturising Foot Cream, the Heel Balm and the Nail Revitaliser Gel.

The moisturising cream is incredibly intensive but also fast-absorbing – handy as not many of us have time to wait around with our feet up – literally! It is enriched with vitamin E and is gentle enough to use all over the body.

The Nail Revitaliser Gel is a triple-action formula for discoloured or thickened nails (read – nails which have not been nail-polish-free for as long as we can remember). Optical brighteners tackle the discolouration, urea softens thickened nails and keratin (a protein) conditions and restores nail quality.

The star of the range for us has to be the Heel Balm. It’s a medically proven treatment for dry and cracked feet and promises visible results in 3 days. The non-greasy formula is enriched with Pro Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and L-Arginine and is completely paraben-free.

They Say:

The Flexitol Heel Balm is a super-concentrated moisturizer and exfoliator that is clinically proven to soften and repair rough, dry, and cracked feet.  It moisturizes and exfoliates with a unique blend of Aloe, Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Lanolin, Glycolic Acid and Tea Tree Oil combined with 25% urea and four other moisturizing ingredients. The combination of emollient ingredients actively replenishes moisture deep below the surface of the skin, promoting visibly healthier skin in just one day!

We Say:

If we had to choose one product from this range, it would absolutely be the Heel Balm for its multi-purpose uses. The concentrated cream can double up as an all-over moisturiser – and this Her staffer was very pleased with the results when used on the elbows also.

With regards to seeing a change in just one day – it is a lofty promise and not one we feel is completely justified. However, on the the three-day mark we definitely saw a big difference. Discolouration had cleared up and the skin looked and felt soft and smooth. The balm is also a great primer for tan and fought off any orangey build up around the ankles.

We’ll admit these lotions and potions PROBABLY won’t take pride of place on our dressing table, but we are in firm agreement that they are now an essential part of our summer beauty armour.
