The Beauty Buzz The new NYC range markets itself as "city-proof" so not matter what the environment throws at you, your make-up will stay "crease-proof, smudge-proof, flake-proof and tear-proof". Both the mascara and eyeshadow crayons are advertised as "24 hour" which meant we just had to put these claims to the test. The Beauty Brand New York Color is a budget beauty brand stocked in many pharmacies and branches of Penneys throughout the country. Created in 1999, the brand takes inspiration from fashion weeks and those at the cutting edge of fashion. The NYC mission statement says it wants to ensure the most fashionable looks at budget prices "with no trade-off on quality". New York Colour aims to offer "exciting innovation and great quality, packaging and shades that reflect the beating heart and energy of the City". The Beauty Break-through The make-up obsessives among us are sure to be acquainted with Clinique Chubby sticks. Easy application, long-wearing and smudge-proof too, they're an eyeshadow game changer. The only problem is the €20 (and up) price tag. Enter NYC City Proof Eyeshadow crayons which is the same concept for a LOT less. More money for more make-up? Yes please. They Say: "Whatever the city, whatever life throws at you, get your eyes completely city-proof with NYC". We Say: We've long been fans of NYC (the mascaras and nail varnishes in particular) and are delighted to say that the latest drop is another winner. For a no-fuss, easily applied, minimal effort look, you won't go wrong with the eyeshadow crayons, and the mascara lives up to standards set by previous NYC mascaras. We didn't chance wearing eyeshadow to bed so can't attest to the 24 hour claim but it does last the day and and that's all you really need.
