The concealer hack that you should never EVER follow

Note to self.

Cathy Donohue

Nasty.

This particular beauty hack might be one you’ve heard before and it might even be one you rely on but according to the experts, it’s a very bad idea.

We’re all familiar with the ‘gunk’ that accumulates on the top of a bottle of foundation.

It tends to cake into a rather gooey consistency and it really isn’t the best thing to put on your skin.

Not only is it likely to be full of bacteria, it’s also been exposed to oxygen for a prolonged period which can turn it a bright orange.

Concealing under eye bags and blemishes with a darker shade isn’t the look we were going for, to be fair.

When you’re running low on your usual concealer, it might be tempting to try this hack out as the thick formulation of the liquid at the top of the bottle looks as though it might camouflage imperfections.

However, unless you want a breakout, avoid, avoid, AVOID.
