So what is it exactly?

Basically a mix of blond and brown-toned shades (caramel, honey, ash, gold, blond, butterscotch) that are achieved using a mix of ombré and balayage.

It started to gain popularity last year and in recent months, the bronde look has been spotted all over Instagram.

Chatting to Byrdie about this gorgeous hair trend, colourist Amy Fish explained how it works for both brunettes and blondes.

“It’s a great look for brunettes who want to become brighter, and also first-timers who want to start experimenting with colour. Perfect for blondes, it tones down that beachy vibe”.

She also describes it as a “low-commitment” hair colour so if you don’t want a massive change but feel your hair needs a little lift, you’ll love bronde.
