Kate Kerr, a skin therapist based in Harley Street, previously spoke to The Daily Mail about why she encourages her clients to double cleanse.
"It's not just about removing dirt and oil. It's about softening the skin to make sure that anything you use subsequently is properly absorbed".
Oil cleansers are having a moment of late and they're really good for those who have dry skin.
However, if you're prone to break-outs, Kerr recommends steering away from oil-based cleanser and using a cleansing milk and following with a gel cleanser.
Some prefer to use a skin brush as the second step and that's entirely up to you and the type of skin you have.
