While using a sock when your tanning mitt is nowhere to be found is a common occurrence for Irish gals, sock foundation application is a new one.
Beauty blogger Mayra Isabel has put together a YouTube tutorial, see below, where she talks through how she uses a sock to put on tan, starting by twisting and rolling the sock up.
According to Mayra, you can use either the toe or the ankle part of your sock depending on your preference and if you need extra "cushioning" just add another sock.
It sounds completely mad I know but Mayra claims this technique blends really well and after watching the result in the video, I'm tempted to give it a go.

Not only does the makeup aficionado use the sock to apply her base, she also used it while contouring and to apply concealer in those hard to reach crevices.
I might stick to brushes and sponges for contouring as it's hard enough to get right but the sock method could prove handy for foundation and concealer, especially if your brushes are drying and you've run out of sponges.
